PHILIPP WILLMANN - DIRECTOR OF BEAUTY TECHNOLOGY

We sat down with Philipp Willmann to discuss the latest in anti-ageing, skin rejuvenation and weight loss science.

Tell us a bit about you and how you got into the beauty industry.
When I first came to Australia in 2015 I had nothing but an international business degree and thousands of dollars of student debt in my pocket. I started by helping my wife creating her own cosmetic clinic in Sydney in the eastern suburbs. I then founded my own company Beauty Technology in 2016 after I saw a gap in the market for how clinic owners could improve their treatment results and patient satisfaction for better client retention.

What do you enjoy the most about working in the beauty industry?
Being surrounded by the cosmetic / beauty industry has been an absolute delight since inception. I love attending trade shows and connecting with new people as well as seeing familiar faces and existing customers and industry partners. The beauty industry is an ever evolving, fast paced industry with state-of-the-art technology that thrives through ongoing developments for treatment/device solutions. I love the fact that I work with customers that help their clients not only look but also feel better about themselves externally as well as internally. The core of Beauty Technology’s DNA has always been the relationship with the customer. We pride ourselves in supporting our customers with ongoing training and all-round service.

What is your favourite product/range and why?
MyCollagenLift – our latest import from Switzerland has the highest level of hydrolysed marine collagen available on the Australian market – 5000mg, along with silica, hyaluronic acid and high potency antioxidants including SOD - that makes this product an absolute MUST HAVE to anyone interested in beauty.

Tell us a bit about the story behind your brand. What was your inspiration and your brand mission?
I was surprised that nothing like the Byonik system or Slimyonik were available to the Australian beauty / cosmetic market when I first arrived. I have an immense passion for skin health and general wellbeing. In Australia we are living in a very harsh climate and many of us have skin types that are not well equipped against these conditions. My belief is that if everyone in Australia gets a little bit of Beauty Tech TLC, we all would be in a happier & healthier place.

What sets your brand apart from others in the industry?
We strongly believe in ethical treatments and devices therefore we source highest industry standard products very carefully from Germany and Switzerland. We believe in the holistic rejuvenation rather than hoping that one thing will fix everything. We not only import devices and treatments that can be used as stand alone, but also importantly as combination treatments to improve customer results and therefore increase client satisfaction leading to greater client retention.

What do your customers love about your products?
Our customers have reported benefits from the very first use, including improved gastrointestinal function, improved joint pain and general energy levels. The obvious reported benefits after a month’s use include thicker hair, stronger nails and firmer skin!


What path led you to Beauty Expo Australia and what is it about the show that makes it a great fit for you?

The Beauty Expo has been a must go-to event ever since we are in business. It provides exceptional marketing opportunities and reaches a big audience for educational purposes about our products and devices.

Can you share one of your proudest moments in business so far?
If my products and devices can make a difference to an end consumer as to how they look and feel, that makes me proud.

What is the best piece of business advice you have been given? 
Persistence is the key.

Who are some of the other brands in the beauty industry who you love/admire?
I work closely with my industry partners, and we share a lot of customers. I love combination treatments for best possible results. A few of my customers offer Cryotherapy, Infrared Sauna, Slimyonik, LPG (Endormology), Radiofrequency and EMS to treat the body most effectively.

Byonik for example slots in with so many other devices/treatments you may offer. It can be a resurfacing laser, radiofrequency devices, dermal needling, hydrafacial, fractional laser, injectables, PDO threads, etc. to further enhance results and to reduce the oxidative inflammation in the skin.
